If you can't pitch, swing for the fences! Milwaukee Brewers 14, Cleveland Indians 12

Unfortunately that goes for both teams.

Screw it, I'm not going to edit this, this was how things were going to appear as late as the top of the 8th:

The best thing that can happen when you're team isn't getting the best pitching performance in the world is for your opponent to be having the worst pitching performance in the world.  Ok, it wasn't quite the worst in the world, but the Brewers pitching was worse than the Indians tonight.

Things that caught my script "I"

-I don't really understand why on the night of the Ricky Vaughn bobblehead why the Indians and Brewers didn't wear the retro uniforms again, why not just wear them the whole weekend and tonight?

-Nice to see the long ball back at Progressive Field and all of them not being hit by Albert Pujols.  Shin-Soo Choo, Mark DeRosa, Victor Martinez, and Travis Hafner all went deep for the Tribe.  Ok, probably every column in Cleveland is going to say it was nice to see Hafner go deep, but it really is.

-The Brewers have to be ecstatic that Ryan Braun is locked up for eight years.  By the end of that deal he'll be 33, I guess still not quite too old for the Yankees, but he will definitely be the Franchise player for the Brewers, I'd let Fielder walk when his contract is up.  I just can't see how you can be that overweight and maintain the kind of bat speed to continue to be a power hitter, let alone productive for years to come.  In game edit: I had to know Prince Fielder would do something to put the Brewers in a position to win tonight after I wrote what I did about him, sorry.

-As soon as I praised Pavano he has gotten shelled in two straight starts now.  I don't think knowing you're the #2 starter would change anything mentally, but who knows, and if so, let Huff or Sowers be the #2 guy for now, maybe it's a comfort thing.

-It will be nice to get back to Rick and Matt doing the games.  It's felt like 1995 all over again with three straight nationally telivised games.

-It's funny how you can go from a near no-hitter last night to 26 combined runs the next game.

-Craig Counsell and his batting stance still haunt me.  I can't believe he's still in the majors 12 years later.

-Unfortunately the suck virus has spread throughout the entire Indians pitching staff tonight (No, not you Cliff, you know what I mean).  Ok, they have gone from suck to putrid as Rafael Perez allows a grand slam to Prince Fielder, giving the Brewers the lead 13-12 (after the Indians had lead 12-7 at one point) and totally screwing up most of this entry.  Perez continued to be more vile than vomit, giving up another run, 14-12 Brewers.  I think it's time to give ole Raffy left the Edward Mujica treatment, and then try to trade to get Edward Mujica back!

-How much longer before the Ricky Vaughn bobbleheads become 2009's version of ten-cent beer night?

The Indians unfortunately might be able to look back at this game and the game in Kansas City when Kerry Wood blew a four run lead in the ninth and the Indians went on to lose.  This game was definitely a revert back to the April Indians instead of the Tribe of late.  I guess Carl Pavano and everyone in the bullpen not named Joe Smith channeled the spring training edition of Rick Vaughn, and not the late season "Wild Thing" version tonight in the game that honored the 20th anniversary of the fictional righty, who's been the hardest throwing pitcher Cleveland has had since 1989!
